Description
A striking Turquoise inlaid Ammonite pendant. And, not just any turquoise, this is the famed Sleeping Beauty Turquoise from America’s Southwest.
Ammonite’s were from the ocean, their shells looked like a small curled ram’s horn and were similar to the nautilus we see today. It’s believed ammonites went extinct about 66 million years ago with the dinosaurs when a large meteorite hit the earth.
With patience and great skill the lapidarist artist turns this beautiful example of an ancient fossilized ammonite into an impressive piece of jewelry. This ammonite comes alive again with each painstakingly measured, precisely cut and carefully set piece of coveted Sleeping Beauty turquoise. Definitely an heirloom quality piece to be treasured.
Beautifully designed and set in 14K yellow gold with 3 small high-quality offset diamonds at 4 – 5 o’clock.
Turquoise is one of the birthstones for December.
