Austin Unique Jewelry

We have a love for all things that make Austin a great place to live, including the Austin music scene.

Our handmade custom guitar picks made from international coins are highly prized by Austin musicians and music fans. Attach them to a key chain, bracelet, or to a chain or leather cord to wear as a pendant.

Like most Austinites, we also love the outdoors and find tremendous inspiration in the wonders of nature, including astronomy, gardening and plants, and Austin’s many trails and waterways.

Our Team

Owner Clay Copeland started in the jewelry business in high school. Going on to gain his “10,000 hours” managing jewelry shops for The Sheftall Company and Benold’s. He has been enmeshed with the Austin, Texas jewelry scene for years and his dedication is as solid as his work.

Clay who has a knack for creating jewelry that people love at an excellent value says, “I think I got my eye for quality and design from my grandfather who was the V.P. and design furrier for Bergdorf Goodman in New York City.” Murry Singer’s last furs were designed for Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl.

Starting his own store in 1983 gave Clay much needed perspective for the future of Copeland Jewelers. Clay now says, “I decided over 20 years ago in Highland Mall that customers were seeing the same thing at 20 different jewelry stores and I was not going that route.”

Within a few years Clay moved to The Arboretum Market under the name of Copeland Jewelers and soon became known for some of the most wearable, unique pieces that any jewelry store in Austin, Texas has ever seen.

Clay’s passion is creating custom jewelry, from design to wax model making to casting in precious metals and finally stone setting of all types. “I never want to say no to repairing or making anything. I almost always find a way to get the job done no matter how big or small.”

Committed to “being honest and always doing the right thing. Because at the end of the day, all you have is your reputation,” Clay Copeland has earned the reputation of being Austin’s Most Trusted Jeweler.

Working in the Austin jewelry scene for almost 20 years, specializing in Native American and turquoise jewelry. We appreciate Levy’s knowledge in semi-precious stones. He also has his GIA Diamond Grading certificate and will be completing his full appraisal credentials soon. His attention to detail and customer service makes him an invaluable asset in appraisals and customer relations.

Chris has been around the jewelry business and the jewelry bench his entire life.

Growing up in Austin and being both a professional jeweler and a professional musician, he is well attuned to Austin’s creative and artistic style and sensibilities. So, his custom pieces appeal to Austinites of all generations.

In addition, having grown up at the bench, he’s become one of Austin’s most reliable jewelry repair experts.
