The Mexican Fire Opal
Sadly, we are coming to the end of our small stockpile of these incredible gems. We acquired these beauties almost 30 years ago. Our French friend living in Mexico would occasionally stop by with these unbelievable opals that we could never resist. You must see this stone!
You rarely get to see this crystal type quality and rolling flashes of color with a bit of the host rock as well. Above all, you notice the “little island” of host rock seems to float in a crystal sea of colors. However, the real attraction here are those fantastic flashes of green, yellow, orange and red. After all, it’s what opals are famous for, but you may not be used to seeing it in these intense Autumn colors. You rarely get to see a 6.73 carat Mexican fire opal of this quality.
The pendant is designed and masterfully handcrafted at Copeland Jewelers in 14K yellow gold. Plus, the design is extra striking with the addition of a small (.10ct.) flaming green tsavorite garnet that perfectly matches the green flash of the opal. Well done maestro!
You must see this Mexican fire opal cabochon pendant in real life! It glows! Here’s another one of Clay’s Mexican Fire Opals.
